以前的长垣，家里的房子全是茅草屋，光线昏暗，又窄又小。温饱问题难以解决，孩子上不起学，跟着父母起早贪黑上地里干农活，特别受苦不说，还一天到晚弄得身上脏兮兮，臭烘烘的！再看看现在，一座座摩天大楼像云南的石林，像雨后拔地而起的春笋。新建的单元楼犹如许多巨人紧挽着胳臂一般矗立着，房间让人要有多宽广就有多宽广似的。家电也应有尽有，也不再是以前富裕的人家才买得起的黑白电视机了，而是超大的液晶电视。家家户户都安装了一种叫做空调的东西，冬暖夏凉，可舒服了。孩子上不起学？你不用担心，因为现在政府提倡的是九年义务教育，不会交学费。以前，洗衣服都使用洗衣板。现在，都用洗衣机。从前，自行车是我们唯一的交通工具。随着我们经济的发展，汽车已经代替了自行车，给人们出行带来了很大的方便。以前的路是狭窄、泥泞的土路，被行人及马车踩碾得高低不平。最可怕的还是下雨天，一下雨，小路变得“满身”都是泥，又硬又滑，行人跌跌撞撞，深一脚浅一脚地踩进去，留下一个个醒目的大脚印，汗水雨水满脸淌，唾弃诅咒撒路旁！而今，一条条羊肠小道变成了宽阔平坦的柏油路，再也不会担心下雨泥泞难行了。宽阔的大马路上，车水马龙，川流不息，有那么多五颜六色的身影在移动，像河水一样流淌，前不见头，后不见尾。县城的马路犹如纵横交错的河道，红绿灯便是浮在水面上的路标，那喇叭声是浪潮喧哗，那张张笑脸恰似朵朵浪花。街道两旁，槐树、杨树、柳树枝繁叶茂，仿佛撑开的一把把绿色的大伞，搭成一个连绵不断的遮阳棚，使人走在林荫道上，舒服凉爽。

但是，任何事物都有两面性。农民变成了工人，田野变成了工厂，工厂里排出的废气污染了空气，排出的污水污染了河流。树木被砍伐的无法阻挡风沙，天不再像原来那样湛蓝，空气不再像原来那么清新，河流小溪不再像原来那么清澈和甘甜。

看到家乡的变化我又喜又忧，我们生活条件的富足是建立在破坏生存条件的基础上啊。我们需要物质的富裕，更要环境的优越！

记得我几年前，每当寒暑假，爸爸妈妈就会带我回到信宜的爷爷家与家乡的亲人团聚。那时，我可害怕回家乡啦，为什么？你试过坐十个小时的汽车，又呕又吐吗？试过一家三口挤在一张小床子上睡觉吗？试过对这鸡笼，在鸡咕咕的虎视眈眈下洗澡吗？试过只能对着一台黑白电视机，对着一个珠江台过日子的滋味吗？这些可都是我在几年之前回家乡而亲身经历的。那时候，哪有什么柏油马路，泥土简简单单踩成了一条狭窄的马路，一下雨，更是泥泞不堪，泥泞的路到处是水潭子，如果不小心踩到水潭子，整个脚就陷下去，好不容易把脚抽出来，可鞋子却留在泥潭里……

睡觉的地方是睡在小小的木床上，爸爸妈妈与我挤在一起，转过身子也很难，每天起床后都会腰酸背痛。一个简易的蚊帐，晚上蚊子会随时进入到我们睡觉的领地大肆疯狂的叮咬，一夜下来，脸上身上满是蚊子叮咬的红包包，整宿整宿睡不着觉。更让我害怕和不方便的是，家里有没有专用的厕所和浴间，去厕所要到屋外的简易公共厕所，随时有掉入粪坑的危险；妈妈与我都很怕鸡，可爷爷家养了十来只鸡，我们洗澡只能在这间养鸡的小房子里进行，每次我和妈妈都会在那些虎视眈眈的鸡目光下心惊胆战地洗澡。那种经历，可谓惊心动魄！

往事的一切不堪回首，可在近年以来，我的家乡发生了翻天覆地的变化。一座座破旧的泥砖房变成了一座座贴着亮晶晶的马赛克的新楼房，家家户户住进了新楼房，一台台彩电飞进千家万户，现如今家家电脑、电视、电冰箱样样不少，生活水平也是显著提高。一座座高楼大厦拔地而起，办公楼更是鳞次栉比，泥泞的小路变成了条条柏油马路……人们利用资源，盖了公园、盖了大桥……路两旁种满了花草树木，蜜蜂在唱歌，蝴蝶在跳舞。家乡让我刮目相看，在不经意间，我们的家乡已随着时代的变革，走入了小康社会，大家不愁吃穿，生活物质水平更是前所未有的增长。瞧，前年春节，爷爷也建起了新楼房，家里有了专用的卫生间和洗澡房，我们也能睡在加大的豪华大床上休息了，家里电冰箱、洗衣机、彩电、dvd、电脑及各式各样的家具一应俱全。现在，我可乐意回家乡度假呢！

清明小长假，我和爸爸妈妈回乡下扫墓。漫步在乡下的小路间，只见屋前屋后，梧桐、香樟树抽芽发叶，一簇簇鹅黄嫩绿；清澈的小溪静静地从桥下流过；溪边清净而又简洁的卵石小路；路边花坛中盛放的各色鲜花散发着淡淡的清香；远处的一座座民房，整齐而错落有致……

看着美丽的乡村，我欢快地对爸爸说：“为什么我觉得今天的家乡变得更加美丽、更加整洁？”

爸爸循循善诱的“职业病”又来了：“答案就在你的视线范围里，认真观察仔细想。”

我扶正眼镜，向四周搜索，在洁白的墙上看到了“时刻听党话，永远跟党走”“绿水青山，就是金山银山”“坚持绿色发展、打造宜居港城、建设美丽莆田”等几排红色大字。我恍然大悟，原来是党和政府立下了建设美丽中国的奋斗目标，全国上下共同努力，短短几年时间，让家乡发生了巨大的变化。

邻居大妈闻声出来，一边和我们打招呼，一边由衷地赞叹：“现在的乡村太美丽了，新农村建设，让我们的农村生活水平大大地提高了！”

另一个人附和道：“是啊，如果没有这些建设，今天的农村或许还会像二三十年前那样：脏、乱、差。”还是妈妈最懂我，她见缝插针：“宝贝啊，现在咱老家也通网了，瞧，那就是信号基站。你啊，要是不努力学习，以后回老家来都显得落伍了，更不用说靠你来建设了”。
