my mother and father often chatter in my ears about the famous quotes and benefits of reading: there is a path to the book mountain, and there is no end to the sea of learning and hard work; travel a million miles, read a million books; read a book a hundred times, its meaning will be seen; familiar with the three hundred tang poems, can not write a poem can also be chanted in the diary of our class wang da writer wrote: where the feet can not reach, books can reach. this shows that there are many benefits of reading.

this week i am reading "pinocchio". the story is about an old man named jepetto, carved out of wood a puppet, named him pinocchio, although he always wanted to be a good boy, but can not withstand the temptation, truancy, lying several times on the lame fox and blind cat when but still repeatedly taught. almost hanged by them, thanks to the fairy rescued him, the fairy told him not to lie, every lie nose will grow a cut, he even lied three times, the nose grew in the house can not turn around. later, he was sold to the toy country and turned into a donkey. finally, he was accidentally reunited with his father in the belly of a shark and managed to escape. after so many bizarre twists and turns, the little puppet became very good. he went to work every day, studied hard when he had time, and finally became a really good boy. this story tells us: to withstand all kinds of temptations, encounter difficulties not to run away, to bravely face, in order to become a good boy to listen to understand.

jane eyre, the protagonist, lost his parents since young, and the only one who loved his uncle reed died early, and mrs. reed often treated jane with unequal treatment. in order to escape such a life, jane can only be accompanied by books. in this way, jane stayed at raw for 8 years, and the school gave jane the post of jane. she went to thornfield as a governess, short time, let jane love rochester, rochester in the wedding scene but heard a mad wife, so jane left penniless. jane fainted in the wasteland villa. i didn't expect mr. saint john and his sister to be jane's cousin. jane's uncle left a fortune and made jane become rich woman instantly. jane later returned to thornfield for rochester, unexpectedly, a fire, let the rochester lost his wife, mad house, but let yourself become blind and disabled. but jane still loved rochester and married. jane eyre, a kind and beautiful lady, hates unequal society and longs for an ideal society. despite her humble status, she never gave up the pursuit of an ideal society. she struggled and struggled to gain equal status and maintain her independent personality.

in love, she has not been abandoned because of the appearance, not because of the rich and greedy, not because of vanity and leisurely. but she kept her sober mind and pursued the life she wanted. her unyielding struggle for maintaining fairness and maintaining personal dignity has won the respect of rochester and made jane eyre an enduring value. jane eyre cried out for the lower class civilians who had been bullied, and paved the way for people pursuing the ideal life. this is one of the main reasons that she still enjoys readers.

"jane eyre" is the history of british literature as a classic masterpieces, it successfully portrays the history of british literature in the first to love, life, society and religion are independent and proactive attitude and dare to struggle, dare to fight for freedom and equality of women image. all the women who love foreign literary works like to read charlotte's jane eyre. if we think that charlotte writes jane love only to write this lingering love. i think it's wrong. the author is also a woman, living in the middle of the nineteenth century in the fluctuating uk, when thought had a new start. the most permeated in jane eyre is this idea - the independent consciousness of women. let us imagine that if jane's independence has long been strangled in jirenlixia childhood life; if she does not have the independence, she had and his wife and daughter live together in rochester, began to have money, and status of new life; if she does not share of purity, we are now in the hands of "jane eyre" is no longer touching the tears of the classic. so, i began to think about why jane eyre moved us and loved it - it was her independent character and the charm of her heart. however, we can't help but ask, is this one step alone? i don't think it is. after all, the independence of women is a long process, not overnight. it needs a thorough courage, like jane then decided to leave rochester, "the wind rustling xi zhuang earth went to the yi river is so cold, did not return" bold and daring. i think this should be the most critical step, and it should be a decisive step towards independence. charlotte's jane eyre has left her stubborn character and independent personality to us. so she is a successful, happy woman. jane has been an independent female classic, i hope the sun, flowers in more jane walked out, whether poor or rich; whether beautiful or homely, have a good mind and enrich the mind, can be an independent personality and a strong personality life.

in today's society, people are crazy to drown love for money and status. choose between rich and poor, and choose not love between love and love. few people will abandon all the love for their personality like jane eyre. "jane eyre" show to us is a recover the original simplicity, pay a whole hearted pursuit of love, there should be dignity as a person. it is like a glass of ice water that purify the soul of everyone.

的英文读后感篇3

this summer, i read the million pounds this book, although i understand the money is not everything, but the money can let many people to the rich bow, they to the pound, tried to woo the hero of the story -- henry adams, for the sake of this piece of the pound, from henry arrogant suddenly transform to bow to him, this kind of behavior is very shameful.

this story tells the story of the hero accidentally accidentally drifting to london, london"s two billionaire brothers made a bet. elder brother think if you give him a $one million pounds, 30 days later he will be unable to prove that the money is his own and starved to death, and the younger brother is think he will live very well. so they gave a piece of millions of pounds to henry, their two people to travel abroad for 30 days. came back and told henry that piece because millions of pounds by all people, to bring him, and almost all things are to let him free to buy. and because of this piece of pounds to improve social status, and finally arrived in addition to the royal family of the supremacy of the duke of, is married to a beautiful wife, received thirty thousand yuan bank interest. and got good jobs from brother, lived a happy life.

i"ve realized people for the money, try very hard to bring one person, to the bow, and all aspects from obedience to him and arranged everything in place, just for the money. to have no money people, rude, arrogant to the rich people, honestly.

it makes me feel very angry, everything should be equal, and these people have only value money, as long as the rich man will treat him very well, but have no money will be arrogant rude. everyone is equal the reasonable use where go to? in our life, but also often have such a thing, everyone cried out, should be equal, but see the rich man, but the lack of one by one all, just want to get more money, earn a little more, i don"t think this is a very vital qi, i hope everyone can, put the correct injustices in the city!

的英文读后感篇4

this is a fairytale whose distribution volume is only second to the bible. it’s been translated to versions of many other languages. and i gather there must be something special, something really great about it. it’s this conviction that drove me to read it at the first beginning. well, with due respect to the author, i failed to see how this fairytale be worthy of our attention, despite the fact that many readers claimed this book to be designed for adults.

anyway, as a well-acknowledged book, it must possess unique feature to maintain it’s position. and it’s reputation and popularity will by no means be destroyed by what an unknown man says. i will talk about the main contents of the book, and the inspiration it renders as usual.

this book mainly tells us the experience of a prince from a tiny planet, who traveled to many other planets and finally came to the earth and met the pilot in a desert. the prince and the pilot became good friends, and the pilot gradually got to know the feeling and experience of his friend. before he came to the earth, little prince had been to other 6 little planets where he made acquaintance with some strange people. the first man he met was a king on a little planet, yet he claimed to be the king of the space and ridiculously justified his unshakable governance over all. the second person was a man of vanity, who enjoyed pliments of any form without considering whether it’s sincere or not. the third person was an alcoholic who tried to forget the fact that he’s addicted to acohol by drinking like a fish. the fourth person was an abosolute money-oriented businessman, who cared nothing but his fortune. next came the lamp-lighter who performed his duty blindly. the last one was a geographer who knew

too much about geography to solve a real problem related to it. these six people each represented one kind of person like us. the author satirized people’s conceit, emptiness, fakeness, innocence and blindness through the tone of a child.

i see eye to eye with the author in that the cause of people’s loneliness can be concluded to the negligence of the bonds that connects them. people are supposed to care about each other, cherish what’s really important for them, and be grateful for the happiness that they’ve gained. we all believe knowledge and experience enable us to see clearly and make right judgements all the time. but we may sometimes lose the right to speak straighforwardly, think creatively or love courageously resulting from what we’ve experienced. that why in our middle school textbooks, it’s the little kid that breaks the illusion of the emperor by saying ”but mum, he ain’t were anything”.

when i was a child, i was definitely a good boy who went home on time after school and did his homework and never tried anything without mom’s permission. and now i am a grown-up, and still i am a good man, at least, that’s what i heard. sometimes when i was lonely and i began to think about my childhood, then all the happiness and care-free life came back to me as it were yesterday. kids that once acpanied me during my childhood now bee fathers and mothers of their kids and i myself am a child no more. thinking about all these things have made me moody. there’re changes happening in our lives whether we are happy about it or not.

people told me life is a journey which will never stop once it’s started. what’s left behind are happiness and sorrow, pride and shame, success and regret. there’s good old time to reminisce and there’s sad hours that reminds us of the pain. your feeling makes them real, and you know you lived.

i want to conclude by saying some positive words that each yestersday used to be today, and each today is the future of yesterday, so making the most of today is the best way to cherish your lives. our mortal beings are doomed to die. it’s not sad, instead, death it’s just a process of our lives. after all, we’ve lived our lives and it’s what we do and how we think that determine who we are.

的英文读后感篇5

eading report of sons and lovers during my extracurricular time, i started reading sons and lovers, which was written by david herbert lawrence. he was an english novelist, poet, playwright, essayist, literary critic and painter who published as d. h. lawrence. he was born on september 11, 1885 to a miner and his wife in the small village of eastwood near nottingham, england. arthur and lydia lawrence, his parents, had a troublesome marriage from the start: his father, a miner, was content to stay on the mining grounds while his mother yearned to leave. so his childhood was dominated by poverty and friction between his parents. he was educated at nottingham high school, and won a scholarship. he worked as a clerk in a surgical appliance factory, and then for four years as a pupil-teacher. he was died in vence, france on march 2, 1930. lawrence is now valued by many as a visionary thinker and significant representative of modernism in english literature. there is a background before the author wrote this book. lawrence lived at a time when the industrial revolution was taking on the whole world, especially in great britain, which changed from agricultural society towards industrial society. and it brought all changes in national and personal lives. lawrence?s novel sons and lovers deals with lawrence?s personal experiences in the working-class environment in nottinghamshire.

sons and lovers is the third published novel of d. h. lawrence, taken by many to be his earliest masterpiece. it tells the story of paul morel, a young man and a budding artist. this autobiographical novel is a brilliant evocation of life in a working class mining community. this novel is about the life of movels. mr.morel, mrs.moel, paul, miriam and clara are the main characters in this novel. the author develops the story by portraying the relationships between these characters. but the end of the relationship is a tragedy. i divided this book into two parts. now i will introduce the first part of this book.

the refined daughter of a good old burgher family, gertrude coppard meets a rough-hewn miner at a christmas dance and falls into a whirlwind romance. but soon after her marriage to walter morel, she realizes the difficulties of living off his meager salary in a rented house. the couple fight and drift apart and walter retreats to the pub after work each day. gradually, mrs.morel?s

affections shift to her sons, beginning with the oldest, william. as a boy, william is so attached to his mother that he doesn?t enjoy the fair without her. as he grows older, he defends her against his father?s occasional violence. eventually, he leaves home for a job in london, where he begins to rise up into the middle class. he is engaged, but he detests the girl?s superficiality. he dies, and mrs. morel is heartbroken, but when william catches pneumonia, she rediscovers her love for her second son. both repulsed by and drawn to his mother, paul is afraid to leave her but wants to go out on his own, and needs to experience love. gradually, he falls into a relation ship with miriam, a farm girl who attends his church. the two take long walks and have intellectual conversations about books, but resists in, in part because his mother looks down on her.

i want to introduce the three characters of this book: mr. morel, mrs morel and miriam leviers. mr. morel is paul's rough, sensual, hard-drinking father. in many ways, he is his wife's opposite. mr. morel is from a lower-class mining family. he speaks the local dialect in contrast to his wife's refined english. he loves to drink and dance practices that mrs. morel, a strict congregationalist, considers sinful. mrs morel is one of the most formidable mothers in all of western literature. to the narrator, and perhaps to paul morel, she is both a giving, selfless nurturer of her children and a possessive tyrant. miriam leviers, paul's teenage friend and sweetheart, was modeled after lawrence's own young love, miriam is paul's devoted helpmate in his artistic and spiritual quests. although beautiful, she takes no pleasure in her physical attributes. her whole life is geared towards heaven and a mystical sense of nature.

this is the most autobiographical of all lawrence?s works as the author himself had a similar relationship with his own mother. the use of this oedipal theme is one of a number of freudian concepts he used throughout his books. like many of his works, sons and lovers was criticized when first published for obscenity and one publisher called it the dirtiest book he had ever read, but compared to his later works it is quite constrained.

there are three females that paul had loved. the first person is his mother. paul is afraid to leave her but wants to go out on his own, and experience love. then, it is miriam, whom is a farm girl. they have intellectual conversations about books in the nature. at last, paul meets clara dawes, who has separated

from her husband, paul get physical satisfaction from her.

i want to show my opinions about the love between paul and miriam.miriam leviers, paul's teenage friend and sweetheart, was modeled after lawrence's own young love. she is romantic in her soul but timid and sensitive in appearance. miriam is paul's devoted helpmate in his artistic and spiritual quests. although beautiful, she takes no pleasure in her physical attributes. her whole life is geared towards heaven and a mystical sense of nature. miriam is paul?s first lover. miriam loves paul, but she can?t admit to and has no courage to love. when she loves paul, she only wants to dominate his mind, then to catch paul?s whole soul. but paul knows that miriam only loves his soul and wants to posses him. in this book, there is a dialogue between them which paul rejected miriam. miriam said: you had said that we belong to each other. i was young. i did belong to my mother and now she is died. i don?t want to live again with you, not even with you. i?m sure i?ll never find one as good as you, but perhaps i understand at last what the mean to live, said paul. for paul, mother?s love makes him unhappy, while miriam seems like his mother as both want to control his soul. of course, he will against that form of love as he thinks that?s not love and wants to escape from this spiritual love. i think the love was failed because of miriam?s possession.

then, i?d like to compare lawrence as a combination of both william and paul. as william, he was a man who grew in such family and had a strong will to break the shackles of his class. william was gifted, he was successful in both his academy work and interpersonal relational, and he escaped from his lamentable family to london. the mentality of william just like lawrence purred his feel to this character subconsciously: the disgust of his father, admiration of mother, struggle to free himself from the mournful family. all these characteristics are based on author himself experience. of course, these stuffs also connected with the society at that time, which class you came from can be the first to affect who you were or how you were, in order to change your social status, the post important was to change the class you belonged to. all these ideology created both lawrence and his william.

at the moment, it?s clear that paul?s oedipus complex and reasons. actually paul has not become a normal adult by getting over some problems like

other children. that is not only determined by his mother?s abnormal maternity. the reasons are in many ways, some comes from the parents; some comes from his sisters and brothers, some even from the society, the mechanical civilization, which leads to the family tragedy and distortion of personality.
